CLAY COUNTY

Clay County lies southwest of the City of Jacksonville and on the opposite side of the St. Johns River from St. Johns County (home of historic St. Augustine).  In fact, Clay County’s entire eastern border is nestled along the banks of the St. Johns River with many areas of undeveloped woodlands dotting its interior.

FLEMING ISLAND– Fleming Island is a complete hometown, designed to meet all of the needs of the people who live there and includes many unique communities including Fleming Island Plantation, Eagle Harbor, Hibernia Plantation and Margaret’s Walk. This charming family oriented community is proud to offer its residents an abundance of amenities and attractions. These include an assortment of water parks, soccer fields, swimming pools, golf courses and tennis courts, all of which add to the already appealing area known as Fleming Island. In addition, there are numerous public boat ramps as well as a bike trail that stretches from Doctor’s Inlet to Black Creek and local lakes and waterways offer canoeing and fishing for the true outdoorsman.

ORANGE PARK – Located south of Jacksonville on the west side of the St. Johns River, Orange Park’s rural pastoral qualities and proximity to Jacksonville make it a popular residential area. Orange Park is home to St. Johns River Community College, one of the region’s major shopping malls, the Orange Park Kennel Club, country clubs, golf courses and medical facilities. Waterways are plentiful and easily accessible for boating, fishing, kayaking or jet skiing

OAKLEAF PLANTATION– Situated on 6,400 acres southwest of Jacksonville and located next to a 20,000 acre state forest, Oakleaf is a beautiful master-planned community offering easy access to all area Interstates, downtown Jacksonville, the Orange Park Mall, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Cecil Commerce Center and more. Located within the community are both large and small retailers, restaurants, medical centers, business parks and more.

OakLeaf Plantation was developed in the early 2000’s, so all of the homes are newer. The community offers many smaller “pocket parks” as well as two of the most grand amenity centers in all of Northeast Florida. All of the schools are located within the community.

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – This area was first inhabited over 7,000 years ago by natives drawn by a warm mineral spring located near the St. Johns River. In the 19th century, hotels were built around the spring and it became a big tourist attraction. Today, this historic city still has a small town flavor with all the big city conveniences close by. The spring is still flowing and actually feeds an adjacent public swimming pool before flowing the short distance to the St. Johns River.
